It's an excellent way to dodge enemies when they creep ever so closely to your blue arrow looking self. The good thing is that you don't need to press any button. It does this for you automatically, so all you need to do is be advantageous and get the heck out of the way.

Be sure to get used to this because it does obviously change your game flow on the fly, so you'd need to adjust for at least a couple of seconds. This is a fun feature that is also very helpful. Just please don't let them get close to you on purpose just because you like slow-mo, mmkay?
